Greenland’s first design boutique opened in May 2012 in the basement of owner / designer, Liss Stender and co-owner / co-designer, Peter Jensen. The store has now moved downtown.

You can find inuk Design in Pikkori Sport’s old location. Owner and designer, Liss, designs all the products that are sold in the store. They share the space with the bookstore Atuagkat.

For everyday use
Liss designs household items and interior products with Nordic and Arctic motives and colors. The designs are called »For Everyday Use«, and here you can for example find small wooden figures made in Iceland, fabric patterns strongly inspired by Greenlandic culture and a book that teaches you how to knit the popular Greenland Tajarutit (wrist warmers).

Christmas gift ideas
At inuk Design can also find this year’s Christmas presents and ornaments.

– We will have some new and special items for Christmas. We have imported unique Christmas decorations and ornaments, and some of our existing products have gotten a new Christmas look, Liss says.

– Many of our things can be used as Christmas presents. It is actually a gift shop. Our wooden figures are for example very popular as Christmas decorations. See the full range of inuk Design at Aqqusinersuaq 4.

Liss Stender received the »Initiative« prize from Sermersoq only five months after she opened her store.

She works closely with her husband, Peter Jensen, the owner of inuk Media. He will soon present his first collection of pillow covers with motifs from his many photos from Greenland. They help and inspire each other to improve their businesses.

– The exchange of competence goes both ways.

– I can help inuk Media with graphic design. At the same time they provide me knowledge about multimedia, Liss ends.
